Now that labor day has passed summer is officially over. This summer was definitely the most insane, exciting, hard and entertaining one I've ever had. 5 days after finishing the worst finals week yet I was shipping off to Hong Kong to intern at Adidas for 7 weeks. It was my first time in Asia along with my first internship and although everything was very overwhelming it was also so eye opening and special. No where else would I be able to jump off a boat 15 feet into the China sea, take a cable car ride over mountains and ocean to the biggest buddha in the world, hike up to the highest point in Hong Kong and overlook the city as the sun set, do the highest bungee jump in the world, walk through a zoo everyday on my way to the train, and stay out til 5 AM singing along with asian pop bands to American songs and being crazy americans dancing on tables night after night... being back at school now those 7 weeks abroad seem like a dream.
Favorite Summer Trends to Bring into the Fall:
Getting an uneven hemmed skirt in a darker/neutral color will make it easier to pair with your other fall wardrobe items such as a brown leather jacket or dark blouse and ankle boots.
The pastel passion will definitely be continuing into the fall season, instead of wearing an all light ensemble trade your white jeans for grey ones for an edgier look.
Neon accessories became an absolute favorite of mine this summer. They're unique and eye catching and can 100% be worn into the fall... worn with a leather jacket they will give you an awesome fall look.
I feel so lucky to have been able to have had such a great experience with amazing people that I love so much! Along with all of the fun I learned a lot about the apparel industry living in a city where every building is a shopping mall and working for the largest sportswear company in the world. Through my time there, especially being able to visit a Chinese factory, I was able to comprehend both visually and conceptually how massive the apparel industry is and how big of an impact apparel has on the world.
If you ever get the chance DEFINITELY go to Hong Kong.
Favorite Summer Trends to Bring into the Fall:
This summer my absolute favorite trends were the high-low hemmed skirts, NEON, and pastels (mint mint mint). Now that we are moving into fall its time to make these trends transform for the colder weather.
